Keith Sargent Scholarship
The Keith Sargent Scholarship is open to any student with mobility, visual or hearing disability who has completed 24 transfer credits or one academic year at Iowa State University and who has a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. Preference will be given to students whose disability is considered severe. The scholarship amount varies and may be renewed for an additional two years as long as a GPA of 2.75 or above is maintained. The award is administered through the Student Disability Resources Office.
This scholarship was established by Mr. Keith Sargent, an alumnus of ISU, for the help he received from the disabled community at ISU and the people that assisted him. A tragic accident severely limited Mr. Sargent's once active life but he fought the odds and completed his degree. He learned through the process that although he was disabled, nothing was ever accomplished by giving up.
