Access to quality notes is, for most students, integral to the learning process. All students are encouraged to be actively engaged with course materials and taking notes is one of the many ways that occurs. However, some students face barriers to taking handwritten notes in class. In these cases, other options are explored. These include: using a laptop, using a Braille note-taking device, or audio recording lectures. If these solutions fail to eliminate the barrier for a particular student, Access to Lecture Notes is provided as an accommodation. In this case, Student Disability Resources (SDR) and the course instructor should collaborate with the student to facilitate access to quality notes.
